Transfer Policy
Transferring a Reservation is Cheaper than Cancelling!
We understand that things change and you might not be able to make it when you had planned. We hope you take advantage of our transfer option instead of cancelling completely. Our goal is for you to be able to visit and enjoy your state parks and reservoirs at your convenience.
  • Transfers or cancellations must be done prior to date of arrival and must be done by calling the Reservation Call Center.
  • Please do not use the "Contact Us" mechanism to transfer, cancel or inquire about your reservation as it will not be processed.
  • Indiana DNR does not issue refunds for increment weather or on holiday weekends at any of our facilities.
  • Other refunds on or after the date of arrival are subject to property approval and are not approved after the last day/night of the reservation.
Transfers are allowed for the following facilities:
Campsites
  • A reservation can be transferred multiple times at a cost of $5.00 per transfer. The transfer must be within the same reservation season. Transfers to another person are not allowed.
  • A reservation can be transferred to another site, date or property (customer must keep the same number of rental nights or use the cancellation policy listed below) up until 8:00 pm the night before the scheduled arrival date through the Reservation Call Center only.
  • Additional/refund rental fees will be collected/refunded if the transfer facility is at a different rate.
Cabins
  • A reservation can be transferred multiple times at a cost of $5.00 per transfer.
  • A reservation can be transferred to another cabin or date within the same property (customer must keep the same number of rental nights or use the cancellation policy listed below).
  • The transfer must be done 10 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date and within the same reservation season through the Reservation Call Center only. Transfers to another person are not allowed. Additional/refund rental fees will be collected/refunded if the transfer facility is at a different rate.
Shelters and Recreation Buildings
  • A reservation can be transferred multiple times at a cost of $5.00 per transfer.
  • A reservation can be transferred to another facility or date within the same property (customer must keep the same number of rental days or use the cancellation policy listed below).
  • The transfer must be done 10 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date through the Reservation Call Center only.
  • The transfer must be within the same reservation season.Transfers to another person are not allowed.
  • Additional/refund rental fees will be collected/refunded if the transfer facility is at a different rate.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be done through the Reservation Call Center and by close of business the number of days listed below for each facility.
Campsites, Youth Tent Area, Rally Campsites, Canoe Campsites and Group Cottages
  • Cancellations made up to close of business the day prior to the scheduled arrival date will result in a $10 cancellation fee per reservation. For Sunday or Monday arrivals, cancellations must be made by 12 pm EST on the Saturday prior.
Cabins
  • Cancellations made up to 31 days or more prior to the arrival date will result in a $25 cancellation fee per reservation. Reservations cancelled 30 days or less of the scheduled arrival date will result in the loss of the first night's cabin rental fee.
Shelters/Recreation Buildings
  • Cancellations made 15 days prior to the scheduled arrival date will result in forfeiting half the total rental fee. Cancelling 14 days or less of the scheduled arrival date will result in the loss of the full day rental fee.
Group Camp
  • Cancellations made 91 days or more from the scheduled arrival date will result in forfeiture of the first night's rental fee or $100, whichever is less. Cancellations made 90 days or less will result in forfeiture of the first night's rental fee.
  • Any remaining balance will be due 30 days prior to your date of arrival or it will result in an automatic cancellation.
